Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Click on RSVP link above. A portion of your name -- usually last name, but if that doesn't work try your first -- and the system should find you. Any problems, just email emilyandgregg2022@gmail.com

Question

What protections are in place for Covid-19?

Answer

Updated: March 11, 2022 1. The city of Chicago has dropped its previous vaccine requirement, however all of our guests are fully vaccinated. You will no longer be required to show proof of vaccine to enter Garfield Park Conservatory. Chicago updated Covid-19 guidance is here: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid-19/home.html 2. Please take a rapid test the day of the event. Let us know if you need help procuring a test.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The venue closes to the public and opens exclusively to our guests at 5pm. The ceremony is at 5:30pm. Emily always runs late. Gregg is always early. We recommend tails in seats by 5:25pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Look sharp. Cocktail attire is suggested but if you look good, you look good!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Children from out of town are more than welcome (they're invited!). A casual poll revealed most in-town folks want a reason to leave their kids at home, so that's what we'd suggest. But if you want to bring your kids, bring your kids -- just let us know they're coming and PLEASE keep an eye on them in the desert room! (There will be a whole table of pediatric nurses on site, but we can't vouch for their sobriety.)

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “& ...” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please! As early as possible. E-mail: emilyandgregg2022@gmail.com

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

It's your lucky day! The ceremony and reception are in the same place and there's a parking lot!

Question

Tell me more about Garfield Park.

Answer

I'm glad you asked. Garfield Park is a neighborhood on the west side of Chicago. It's a straight shot down Lake Street from the West Loop / Fulton Market. Like many near west Chicago neighborhoods, it suffers from poverty and unemployment. Groups like Garfield Park Community Council are working to revitalize parts of the community, If you enjoy your time at the conservatory and want to give back to the surrounding community, please check out some of the neighborhood non-profits: Garfield Park Community Council: https://www.gpcommunitycouncil.org/ Breakthrough Ministries: https://breakthrough.org/ Off the Streets Club (a girls & boys club in West Garfield Park): https://www.offthestreetclub.com/ Revolution Workshop*: https://www.revolutionworkshop.org/ (teaches construction and woodworking to unemployed/underemployed)
