YES! On June 26, 2015, the balanced (R.I.P.) U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of granting marriage status to all couples who want it, regardless of sexual orientation. And fortunately for you, we know how to put on a good party. So, you're welcome.

Question

When should I plan my arrival?

Answer

That's totally up to you. But remember, this is a Friday wedding. Many out-of-towners are arriving on Thursday, and we'll be doing a meet up for drinks that evening. On Saturday, we plan on opening up our home to any guests who want to pop on over and spend the afternoon, grab some food, and nurse their hangovers with us. We live just outside the city, so it could be great idea for folks who plan on venturing into the city for the rest of the weekend.

Which airport should we fly into?

Answer

That depends on cost and what your plans are for the rest of the weekend. DCA (Reagan) airport is 25-30 minutes from the Hyatt Regency Reston, and IAD (Dulles) is about 10 minutes from the hotel. If you plan on spending your weekend out closer to Virginia wine country, IAD is probably your best bet. However, if you think you'll want to spend Saturday in Washington, D.C., DCA might be your best bet.

Where should we stay?

Answer

We have a room block at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA. We will be providing shuttles for our guests to and from Stone Tower Winery from the Hyatt. However, if you're spending the weekend in the area and want to visit Washington, D.C. on Saturday or Sunday, you may want to choose a hotel closer to the city for Saturday night. For recommendations on this, you can reach out to us.

Will the ceremony be inside or outside?

Answer

As beautiful as Stone Tower Winery is, we have to have an indoor ceremony due to Daylight Saving ending the weekend before. It'll be too dark for an outdoor ceremony; however, the Tank Room is a very cool setting. You'll have access to the grounds during the cocktail hour and reception.

What's going on Saturday (day after the wedding)?

Answer

We are planning to have any guests who wish to spend some more time with us over to our house in Arlington to extend the celebration. We'll have a food truck in our driveway to serve lunch, and we'll also have drinks. If parents are traveling with children, feel free to bring them on Saturday. Feel free to come by after 12:00PM. Our home is about a 25 minute drive from the Hyatt hotel.

I want to come to the Saturday hangout at your house but don't have a car. What should I do?

Answer

If Uber/Lyft isn't your thing, no worries. You can take a taxi 1.5 miles to the Wiehle-Reston East metrorail stop and board a silver line train in the direction of Largo Town Center. The closest stop to our house is Virginia Square - GMU. We are a half mile walk from there. The entire train ride is about 25 minutes.
