"Located on a 127 acre historic dairy farm, West Kill Brewing aims to reflect the great place it was born. With a focus on locally grown and foraged ingredients and a soft spot for history, we have fun brewing beers that are as fascinating in origin as they are delicious. Whether we are making foraged funky ales, crisp balanced lagers, or heavily hopped IPA's its our untouched mountain water that truly showcases the natural beauty of this place."
WEAVER HOLLOW IS A BREWERY MAKING SLOW AND NATURALLY FERMENTED ALES ON AN OLD CREAMERY IN THE CATSKILL MOUNTAINS. WE UTILIZE THE NATIVE MINERAL PROFILE OF OUR WELL WATER, ALONG WITH A HOUSE MIXED-CULTURE—AVOIDING COMMERCIAL YEAST ENTIRELY—TO PRODUCE BEERS THAT ARE TRULY REFLECTIVE OF THE LAND AROUND US. INSPIRED BY OLD-WORLD WALLONIAN FARM ALES, OUR BEERS ARE AGED IN FRENCH OAK BARRELS AND OFTEN FEATURE A RESTRAINED TARTNESS, BUT ARE ULTIMATELY DRY, DRINKABLE, AND REFRESHING. WE OPEN OUR DOORS ONE DAY A MONTH TO PROVIDE BOTTLES TO-GO, AND HOPE TO HAVE A TAPROOM OPEN WITH REGULAR HOURS THIS SUMMER. -I'm not sure why this is all capitalized...
We found the Pine Hill Arms in a pinch when a BnB had a two night minimum and we were coming up just to ski for a day. We planned to go out to another restaurant in the area (also in the list) but after one beer and an order of french fries we decided we might as well just stay put. We couldn't have made a better decision; the food is a one-two punch of low brow fare served with high brow quality. They always have some locals beers on tap or in cans and they serve one of the best smash burgers Greg has had in his entire life.
Classic American comfort food with some modern twists at this old-school, locally focused diner. We've made a visit to this spot almost every time we've come skiing. The hours aren't exactly accommodating for Apres Ski events but they're an ideal spot for a brunch, lunch, or early dinner. They always have at least one great beer and dozens of menu items that will make it difficult to actually pick out an order. My recommendation is the trout Po' Boy and whatever they have on tap from Hudson Valley Brewing.
Local coffee shop that's right next to Woodstock Brewing Company. It started as a little coffee spot inside the Pine Hill Arms but they've upgraded to a full Cafe Restaurant. Great for breakfast on the go or getting you ready for a day of hiking through the Catskills.
Birth place and death of "the hippy"?...I don't really know, all I know is that there are a bunch of great restaurants, shoppes, and a ton of art galleries. It's definitely a town worth spending a Saturday in! Probably the only town nearby that would take more than 2 minutes to drive through.
