Greg and Mary Kate originally met in June of 2020. After months of lockdown from the beginning of the pandemic, June provided warm weather and an opportunity to be outside among friends and family, at a distance of course. Mary Kate's brother Sean and his wife April were celebrating their wedding anniversary so we all went to see our favorite country band Hillbilly Parade at Rosco Brewery. Looking back, Sean was probably playing match maker but did not realize Greg had a girlfriend at the time. Mary Kate and Greg chatted casually that day and become Facebook friends but it wasn't until March of 2021 that they met up again; this time at a cigar lounge for a Towns 4 Troops fundraiser. A casual conversation about cigars and champagne and Gregs military dreams turned into a first date the following Saturday morning at Village Hands. Greg knew that any girl who liked the smell of cigars was worth getting to know better! The next few months Greg and Mary Kate formed a great friendship with a foundation of support and respect for each others life endeavors. Greg discerned which branch to enlist in, eventually deciding on the Air National Guard and Mary Kate spent months preparing for the first Adult Irish Dance Nationals competition. Greg easily threaded his life into Mary Kates and joined her family one night at the beach in August 2021 to help celebrate Mary Kates parents 40th wedding Anniversary. It was this week that Greg and Mary Kate took a leap of faith and turned their friendship into a relationship and as they say....the rest is history!

With the help from Sean and April, Greg gathered many friends and family at Trivia Night at Long Lot Brewery. It wasn't unusual for Sean and Greg to invite everyone they knew to Trivia Night so Mary Kate didn't think twice about it. Mary Kate came right from work and as she drank her wine, friends and family showed up one by one. After several days of hot, humid summer nights August 10th was a beautiful night and perfect weather. Mary Kate even mentioned to her childhood friend Lisa that she was surprised to see many people she knew at Trivia. Lisa reassured Mary Kate that it was just the nice weather everyone wanted to enjoy. Normally, April asks all the trivia questions but this night, the last question of each round was said by a guest player. The third round was the topic of "All About Rings". Knowing the topic, Mary Kate couldn't tell you the first few questions as she started putting two and two together in her head and waited eagerly for the last question. Greg was the guest host for the last question and that one question was only for Mary Kate. "Will you Marry Me?" quickly became Mary Kates favorite Trivia question and "Yes!" is Gregs favorite trivia question answer.
