Makeda showed up late (as usual) to a Morgan State homecoming event to meet some mutual friends. Greg and Makeda ended up sitting in the same booth to eat during the event. When the night ended, Greg offered to walk Makeda to her car where they talked for over an hour. Greg asked for Makeda's number before they parted ways, and within a week they had their first date at Kona Grill. During their first date, their waiter jokingly asked if they wanted to come back in the morning as they did not realize they had stayed at their table getting to know each other right up until closing time! They made plans to go out again and, needless to say, the rest is history.

As the sun began to set, Greg proposed to Makeda on a rooftop in downtown Baltimore. Makeda thought she was heading to the rooftop with her friend to take pictures before they went to dinner. She opened the door to the rooftop and was surprised to see Greg standing at the end of a candlelit path, next to marquee letters that spelled out "MARRY ME". She said yes with tears of joy streaming down her face before being greeted by family and friends hiding down the hall. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
