How We Met

First comes Beach Week '08... then comes marriage!

Who would've thought meeting at Beach Week in 2008 would be the beginning of Greg and Lauren's story. Both from Severna Park, have mutual friends and have been living in Baltimore over the past 10 years. They have crossed paths on and off, but we all know timing is everything and what's meant to be, will be. Flash forward 13 years later, Lauren caught Greg's eye again in February 2021 at Admiral's Cup in Fells Point. Their first date was in March 2021 at Choptank in Baltimore and the rest is history! They took their first trip together in July 2021 to Punta Cana where they knew this would be forever. High school crushes to forever! Cheers!

The Engagement

A week of unforgettable surprises

Surprise #1 -- On Thursday, July 21st Lauren and Greg flew to Charleston, SC to visit her brother, Matt and his fiancée, Liza. Liza had "made a plan to show them Folly Beach" on night one of their trip. They were all driving to dinner that night and the plan was to have a drink on the beach prior to the dinner reservation. Everyone walked out to the beach together with a High Noon in hand (black cherry for Lauren of course) and when they approached the water Lauren said, "Wow this is beautiful! Lets take a selfie." Greg looked at her and said, "Okay, but I have something to ask you first." As he dropped to one knee, what appeared just to be a local guy sitting on a beach chair reading a book, popped up and started capturing the intimate moment -- the photographer Greg hired! The rest of the night was perfect -- dinner at Tempest downtown Charleston (yes, the "Folly Beach dinner reservation" was a lie), then off to Vintage Lounge for the best espresso martinis for a night cap. Lauren and Greg were able to celebrate their engagement trying new restaurants, sightseeing and fishing in Charleston over the next four days. Greg killed it!!!! To surprise her once says a lot... but then to surprise her twice... Fast forward to the following weekend. Surprise #2: On Saturday, July 30th, Lauren's best friend had made plans to celebrate them that night in Annapolis! (So she thought). On their way to Annapolis, Lauren wanted to stop by her future brother and sister-in-law's to see them in person since Greg popped the question and show them the bling bling! Around 2:40 pm, Lauren walks into the house in army green pants, flip flops, a tank top and messy bun. Two steps into the house and Greg does it again -- SURPRISE! Many family and friends were waiting for the arrival of the newly engaged couple to celebrate the day. Lauren almost had a second heart attack of the week over this second surprise -- we all know it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to surprise this one and Greg did it TWICE! Lauren's best friend, Juls and Future SIL, Meg had a full wardrobe change for her and we were ready to spend quality time with our family and friends for the rest of the night! A note from Lauren & Greg: Another huge thank you to everyone who played a role in bringing this vision to life for Lauren and I. I couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
