Greg and Kristen have known each other since they were in preschool, but became closer when they both joined band and chose to play percussion. In 7th grade, Kristen decided to make the first move and ask Greg out, but to her dismay, his parents said that he was too young for a girlfriend. After a few days, Greg got the okay from his parents. Here’s how the the conversation went when Greg delivered the good news to Kristen: G: “My parents said I can go out with you.” K: “Well, do you want to?” G: “Sure.” And the rest is history!

They knew from the beginning of the relationship that they would get married someday. As they got older, the question as to when became a major topic of discussion. Greg wanted to wait until Kristen was done with school, and Kristen wanted to tie the knot before she graduated so she wouldn’t have to change her last name on her degrees. They decided to have a small ceremony on their 11th dating anniversary in the middle school band room where it all started with just parents, grandparents, siblings, and best friends. It might seem a little non traditional, but it felt perfect for them.
