Things To Do
Memorial Park
Memorial Park is huge and there are lots of places to explore! The trails at the Arboretum are flat and peaceful, and there is also a great play area for kids. There are also mountain biking/hiking trails that are a bit more rugged. On the other side of Memorial Drive is a golf course and the beautiful Eastern Glades park!
Museum District and Hermann Park
Houston is known for its great museums! The Museum of Fine Arts is the largest and always has great exhibits. Nearby are the Natural Science Museum and Children's Museum, as well as Hermann Park which contains the Houston Zoo!
The Menil Collection and Rothko Chapel
The Menil Collection is a wonderful small art museum in the Montrose neighborhood. The museum is free and is also home to the Rothko Chapel.
Smither Park
This off-the-beaten-path little neighborhood park is full of quirky ceramic art! Always a fun place to visit.
Meow Wolf Houston | Radio Tave
This is a brand new Meow Wolf location that recently opened right near our house! If you've never been to one it's like entering an alternate dimension. Lots of fun!
POST Houston
This is one of our favorite places! On the top is a spacious rooftop park overlooking downtown. Underneath is a huge food court with every kind of food imaginable (we especially recommend Chop'n Blok for West African cuisine and Flower and Cream ice cream!)
