Originally, we had planned a little bit of a larger wedding and was so looking forward to celebrating our day with all of our favorite people... but Covid changed those plans and our intimate wedding had to be changed to a "Minimony" with under 25 people in attendance. We are so sorry that we couldn’t have everyone with us for our actual wedding day - Covid is such a scary thing and we didn’t want to take any chances. But - we are married and are looking to have a laid back reception at a later date where we can finally celebrate with everyone. We will keep you posted once we decide on a date and hope that you can be there :)
Our Minimony We originally planned an intimate wedding ceremony with immediate family members with a reception to follow with ALL of our friends and families, but we had to change those plans a bit when regulations were put into place following COVID. At one point, our county wasn’t allowing more than 5 people to gather and our immediate family consists of more than that! On top of the regulations, we weren’t sure if we could actually get a marriage license! Then, two weeks before our original date, we got word that they would be opening the courthouse by appointment. A few days later, we were granted our license! Location: We love our church. We wouldn’t be where we are today if it weren’t for our pastor and the love & support from our church family. But, with everything, we knew outdoors was our best bet. Back at square one. With it being so small, we didn’t need a large venue - and Kara really wanted the dogs there. After joking that we should just have it in Kara’s parent's front yard - Kelli & Mike’s friends and neighbor generously offered their beautiful backyard! Originally, we wanted a backyard style wedding, so this was perfect! Then, a tropical storm decided to ‘try’ to rain on our parade. On top of everything else going on in our country, we now had to worry about weather. We know, in WV, we should’ve just planned for rain. And we did to an extent, but if it was going to be a ‘tropical storm’ kind of downpour, we were going to need a better backup plan. Last minute we were scrambling and thankfully, A to Z still had tents to provide us with shelter. So MANY Obstacles! Although we were missing so many of you on our special day, we are grateful to have had Elevated Media capture the most beautiful videos that we can share with you from afar: Video Link: https://vimeo.com/showcase/7206707 Our friends and family made our "Minimony" so very special and we are eternally grateful!
