Things To Do

McNee Ranch State Park

McNee Ranch State Park

8150 Cabrillo Hwy, Montara, CA 94037
, (650) 726-8819

This is one of our favorite hikes! 7 miles out and back with amazing views of the ocean, SF (if it's not foggy...), the bay, and Half Moon Bay. Go early and then have lunch in Half Moon Bay at Sam's Chowder House.

Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve

Rancho San Antonio Open Space Preserve

22500 Cristo Rey Drive, Cupertino, CA 95014
, (650) 691-1200

Lots of nice hikes with great views across San Jose and the Peninsula. A small farm is about a mile in, with sheep, goats, pigs and cows. We usually see deer and wild turkeys on the hike.

Wine Tasting in Napa

Wine Tasting in Napa

Napa, CA

So many amazing vineyards! You can't go wrong, but some of our favorites are: Stag's Leap (put Napa on the map, amazing wines and fantastic views), Silver Oak (great reds, a nice tour), Louis Martini (one of the oldest vineyards in Napa - go to Dean and Deluca oppositie the vineyard and have a picnic lunch before or after your tasting). Napa is about 2 hrs drive north of San Jose, but well worth the trip. If you stay and go our for dinner we loved Bistro Jeanty in Yountville, and Celadon and Angele are both in Napa town and delicious. We usually stop at ABC (Alexis Baking Company) for breakfast before starting drinking. They have AMAZING pancakes, and a string quartet on Saturday mornings.

La Boheme

La Boheme

415 California Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94306

We got engaged here! Its a french restaurant in Palo Alto, with one of the best French Onion soups Jen's ever tasted (but nothing quite matches our perfected recipe).
