For those of you that know us well, it probably won't come as a shock to you that Greg and I were brought together by a mutual love for pizza. Greg and I first met about 6 months after I moved to Florida in 2018. Somehow (probably gym related) we added each other on Instagram, I posted a story of pizza, he commented on it and now, a few years later, we're planning our wedding!
Gregory proposed in the most perfect way, I couldn't have imagined it better if I tried and it just goes to show how well he knows me. I'll give a quick recap: I was under the impression that we had a "family day" planned, we drove out to the Mucky Duck on Captiva for drinks and an early dinner. Greg had told me that he wanted my mom to snag a few photos of the ABW gear on the beach so she brought her camera. We were walking along the beach looking for a "good spot to shoot" and I was walking along the water because the sand was hot as heck and I was looking for shells. Greg came up behind me and asked, "if instead of being a HAM, would I like to become a HAP?" (For anyone that doesn't know, my initials are H.A.M. so Ham has become one of my common nicknames) And then he asked me to marry him! Just thinking about this day makes my heart so happy. After that, the surprise continued! Some of our beautiful, wonderful, amazing friends were waiting at another of our favorite spots, The Tipsy Turtle, with champagne, decorations, congratulations and lots of hugs. It was truly the perfect day.
