TESTIMONY Greg and Deanne met at the gym about a year and a half ago. They both forgot about this when they saw each other at church a year later. Deanne noticed Greg a few rows behind her. Her friend Katie asked her if she was interested in the guy in front of them and Deanne said no, pointed to Greg, and said ‘he’s more my type’! She made sure to look back a few times during service until they made eye contact ;) After service, their paths crossed as they were walking out, and Greg asked if they had met before. Though she thought this was a pick up line, Deanne did seem to think he looked familiar. Upon further investigation, they realized they had indeed met a year earlier at the gym, when Deanne said hi to his dog, Kaipo. Greg sealed the deal and asked for her number. Seven months later, he put a ring on it! Their story is nothing short of a God story. They had both been praying for their equally-yoked partner in life and finding it a challenge to meet someone on the same page with their Christian values and lifestyle. Greg started putting his faith first again in his life and investing in his personal growth and healing. At the same time Deanne was doing the same. She sought out discipleship, pastoral mentorship, and training in evangelism. When they both surrendered their desires to the Lord, trusting Him with whatever the outcome might be, putting Him first, and honoring Him in their lives, God showed up for them in a big way. A week before meeting, Greg asked his small group to pray for his wife - a woman who loves the Lord more than she loves him. Then God blessed them with each other - and it’s more than they had asked or imagined! (Eph 3:20) It took longer than expected, but God’s timing was perfect. Our God is the best gift giver and a relationship and salvation through Him is the ultimate gift! We pray our story encourages you to trust His timing, His leading, and His ways, in your life, too!
