Christina and Greg met on a dating site called Zoosk in 2016, just when both were starting to think online dating might not be for them. Christina couldn’t resist sending the first message after spotting those blue eyes and his honest profile. Greg was immediately drawn to Christina’s kindness and spark, and after matching, he quickly jotted down her number. There was just one problem... he saved it wrong. After a few days of wondering why she hadn’t texted back, he realized his mistake, laughed at himself, and reached out again. Christina laughed too, and that small mix-up became the perfect start to something great. Christina initially thought Greg was local to Austin, only to find out he actually lived over two hours away and visited the area occasionally to see friends. Despite the distance, they quickly hit it off, after weeks of texting and FaceTiming, and finally decided to meet for a drink after work at Crow Bar in Austin. What was meant to be a casual evening turned into hours of effortless conversation. Even after the bar closed, they sat in the car talking late into the night and bonding over music. A week later, Greg returned to Austin for Halloween, and the two dressed up with friends as Mario Kart characters — the start of countless shared laughs and memories. The group photo even made it in a local news article! Almost every weekend, they took turns making the drive — one weekend in Austin, the next in Greg’s town. They did this for over a year and a half, keeping the connection strong with late-night calls, shared playlists, and lots of laughs. Their friends couldn’t help but notice how naturally they fit together. From their shared habit of breaking into random song lyrics to the effortless comfort they have with each other. After nearly two years together, Greg made the move to Austin, turning weekend visits into daily life together. Through an unprecedented few years marked by COVID, a serious car accident, career changes, and adopting Lorelai, Greg and Christina remained each other’s constant and greatest source of support. In time, Greg brought Christina into his growing business, Benjamin Roe, a creative venture that became something they both poured their hearts into. Together, they ran craft shows, designed new products, and built relationships with stores across the country. Working side by side taught them how to balance creativity, chaos, and coffee — and it only made their partnership stronger. Fast forward to 2024, Christina and Greg began a new adventure together, moving cross-country with a pod and their two cars to New York. Then, that October, Greg got down on one knee at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens during their California trip, marking the start of their next chapter together. What began with a simple online connection and a wrong phone number has grown into a love built on laughter, teamwork, and shared experiences. We truly appreciate all of your love and support throughout it all and are so grateful to be able to celebrate with you in June!
