Architecture Boat Tour
A great family-friendly option for both locals and out-of-towners. Note that you'll have to go down stairs onto the Riverwalk in order to access the dock.
Lincoln Park Zoo
We love going to the Lincoln Park Zoo - it's free, and the conservatory and surrounding pathways on the South and North ponds are beautiful.
Chicago Riverwalk
This is a great outdoor space near the hotel blocks (across the river on the south bank). It's a lovely walk to Lake Michigan, and it has a few restaurants right on the river.
Chicago Museums
The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, and Adler Planetarium are all part of the Museum campus, while the Museum of Science and Industry, the Art Institute, and the Chicago History Museum are located at different spots near downtown. All of these are great if you have time to visit them, but it's easy to spend an entire day at any one of them on their own.
