Alicia grew up just south of here in the small town of Nipomo, and after Greg experienced the charm of the Central Coast, there was no question where we wanted to begin this next chapter together. Airport The nearest airport is San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP) — 10 minutes from downtown with daily flights from LAX, SFO, PHX, and DFW. Other nearby options: • Santa Barbara (SBA): ~1.5 hours • San Jose (SJC): ~3 hours • Los Angeles (LAX): ~3–4 hours Driving Directions For those driving in, SLO is easily accessible via Highway 101. Transportation + Parking Because The Penny is a historic downtown venue, there is no dedicated on-site guest parking. If you’re staying nearby, we recommend using Uber or Lyft. Most downtown hotels are just a five-minute ride from the venue. If you plan to explore surrounding areas like Pismo Beach, Avila, or Paso Robles, renting a car may be helpful. Weather October is one of the most beautiful times of year on California’s Central Coast. Expect warm afternoons in the mid-70s and cool evenings in the 50s, we recommend bringing a light jacket for the evening.
