How We Met

August 14th 2008 "A Bright Light Came Into Frame"

For months both of us were told little bits and pieces about each other from our friends. Alex was the beautiful tall freckled girl Greg was supposed to meet and Greg was the dorky guy with gorgeous eyes that Alex had to meet. The first day of our Junior Year at Escondido High School was the day we finally got to meet each other and put a face to the stories we were told. Alex walked into their class late with her big birthday balloons and stopped the class. It was at this moment Greg couldn't believe how beautiful this girl he's heard so much about was! There was definitely a spark between the two of us! Greg knew there could be something between the two of them someday. It wasn't until a few years later during our first semester of college where we "Met Again" that we began to connect on an emotional level. Because of our true friendship and accepting of each other it was only a matter of time that we both fell in love. We found out that we were meant for each other.

The Proposal

May 4th 2018

"It was a Saturday back in March of 2018. That day I felt something change. There was something in my heart that told me that I need to be with Alex in marriage. It could have been the time and love that we have shared or It also could have been the endless amounts of support she has given me. All I knew after that day was that I needed to find a day and time to confess my love to her. I knew I had a vacation planned for Yosemite in May with Alex and our friends. I thought to myself that this could be the place! Alex and I share a love for the outdoors and it was almost perfect on how the timeline was playing out. It took me weeks to find her the perfect ring but, I finally did. It was becoming more and more real each moment it got closer to the date. The week of our vacation was here and I was as ready as I could be. The entire drive up to the cabin I was sick to my stomach with anticipation. It was the second day of our trip and it was time to drive up to the valley!! Only two people knew what I was about to do (My best friend/Best Man Max and My other best friend Chris). They were doing their best to keep me calm that whole day. I could barely hold it together! I remember it like it was just yesterday. We were all (Alex, Christina, Max, and Chris) taking pictures in front of Yosemite Falls. I had the ring in my pants pocket. We had just finished taking a group photo and I knew it was time. I turned to Alex and said "I need to do something." I got down on one knee and began to string together words that I had been thinking about for over seven years. I could see that Alex was completely shocked and emotional. Her eyes said love and the rest of her said "What?!" I wouldn't want it any other way. Alex was being Alex and even in her bright blue sweater and bandana she was the most beautiful woman ever. SHE SAID YES!! We began this journey together as friends and we will finish it as Husband & Wife!
