Old City is one of the most historic (and walkable!) parts of Philadelphia, and a perfect place to spend a morning or afternoon. -Independence Hall -Liberty Bell -Elfreth’s Alley (the oldest residential street in the U.S.) -Race Street Pier (great views of the river and bridge) -Betsy Ross House -Christ Church (final resting place of Benjamin Franklin) -National Constitution Center
Cheesesteaks: - we like Angelos and Jim’s on South Street (avoid Pat’s and Geno’s …they aren’t worth the hype) Food Halls/Markets: -Reading Terminal Market (tons of options all in one place) Italian Market area: -Great for walking, snacking, and soaking up local culture. While it’s known for its Italian roots, the area is also home to vibrant Mexican and Vietnamese communities, making it a uniquely diverse and delicious place to explore.
Monk’s Cafe - cozy spot with a huge beer selection and classic Belgian fare. Continental Mid-Town - fun menu and great cocktails McGillian’s Olde Ale House- Philly’s oldest tavern, full of charm and history (it does get very rowdy late on weekends). Charlie Was a Sinner - our favorite cocktail lounge!
