After years of kissing frogs, Sydney was losing hope that she'd ever find a prince. Sydney's cousin Annie (and Maid of Honor) suggested they reactivate their online dating profiles, if for no other reason than to giggle at the ridiculous profiles of male prospects. The next day, Sydney stumbled on Mark's profile and liked what she saw. They matched, and Mark's first message to Sydney was a Mrs. Doubtfire meme. The rest is history.

On July 14th, 2022, Mark asked Sydney to be his girlfriend. Exactly one year later, he would ask her to be his wife. In an elaborate plan, Mark coordinated with Sydney's family to surprise her with a beach proposal in Galveston. Mark told Sydney that they were going to the beach to take some photos of the family, with his daughter Sofia joining as well. When we got to the beach on 23rd street, we took several photos before Mark got down on one knee and proposed. Of course, she said yes! Immediately after, many of Sydney's family members came out from their hiding places on the beach and congratulated the couple! The surprises and celebration didn't stop there. Sydney's mother planned a beautiful engagement party at her house, and all of their friends and family attended!
