Our wedding will take place at The Chesapeake on the 4x4 beaches of Corolla in the Outer Banks.
The venue is located in the off-road section of Corolla, where driving on the beach is required. This area is only accessible by 4WD vehicles.
Yes — if you are staying on the 4x4 beach side, you will need a true 4WD vehicle to access the area. If you are staying in Corolla proper (south of the beach access ramp), a regular vehicle is perfectly fine. We highly recommend checking your rental vehicle details carefully, as AWD is not always the same as 4WD for beach driving.
Yes - Transportation details will be provided closer to the wedding date.
Our wedding will be fully outdoors.
May in Corolla is usually warm, breezy, and beautiful, with temperatures typically in the 70s. Evenings can become windy and cooler near the ocean, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap.
Yes, but details regarding parking and beach driving instructions will be shared closer to the wedding weekend.
The closest major airport is Norfolk International Airport, approximately 2 hours away. We recommend renting a vehicle if flying in.

While children are not invited to the wedding itself, we completely understand that many guests may be bringing their families to OBX for the week/weekend. We kindly ask that you arrange childcare for the evening so you can relax and enjoy the celebration with us!
