We are getting married!

Christy and Matthew met on a cool, misty afternoon on September 10th, 2022. After a few dates together, it was only two weeks later they knew they were meant for each other. Christy and Matthew quickly realized how they have so many things in common. They are both from Oklahoma, which was very comforting to them both. The two learned how they share their love of God, along with similar principals and common values. Since meeting each other, they have spent time going to church together, hiking, skiing, taking long walks, sharing their love for music, and trying out new places to eat in Denver.

After spending Christmas of 2022 in Oklahoma City, Christy and Matthew headed to Telluride, Colorado, for a ski trip over the New Year's Holiday. On New Year’s Eve, the couple planned to check out the town before the fireworks show in Mountain Village. Matthew’s plan was to propose underneath the fireworks after learning how much Christy loves fireworks. However, that did not go as planned with the amount of people and the cold, snowy weather. As the fireworks were ending, the couple was walking back through the village as they headed to their dinner reservation. There was a large, beautifully decorated Christmas tree in the middle of the village where Matthew asked Christy to stop. He said “hang on one second, I need to tie my shoe,” and proceeded to kneel down. Keep in mind, he was wearing cowboy boots.... Clearly, he did not need to tie his shoe. As he was on one knee, he took the ring out of his pocket and asked Christy to marry him. She said yes and they spent the rest of New Year's Eve celebrating the joyous occasion until the stroke of midnight. It was the perfect ending to a very special trip.
