Justin and I were roommates for the majority of my college experience. One of the most memorable moments I have with him is playing kickball with him on the playground as kids. Just was one of the cockiest kids out there, always saying something. That’s what made the game fun for me. I always wanted to be on the opposite team just so I could see his face after my team won. Playing sports with Justin was the highlight of my time during the summers my parents dropped me off at day care.

As one of the best men in Justin's wedding, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible friendship we share. Over the past decade, we’ve created countless memories together (several that I won’t share here lol), but one stands out as a turning point in my life. Justin was one of the few friends who believed in my music journey and encouraged me to go after my dreams. I’ll never forget the trip he convinced me to take a risk and go to Atlanta. He even booked his own ticket and came with me. Little did I know that trip ended on changing my life trajectory and felt like I found a new purpose. His unwavering support and faith in my talent made all the difference, and I’m forever grateful to have him by my side today. Here’s to more memories!

Justin and I have made so many memories since becoming friends at just 11 years old. One of my all-time favorites was when we went to the Drake & Future Summer Sixteen concert in Dallas. It was the first concert either of us had ever been to together, and we got to see our favorite artist, Drake. live on one of the most legendary hip-hop tours in history.

My name is Rodney Bates, and I first met Justin when he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma. As the chapter advisor, I initially kept my distance—just making sure things were running smoothly and by the book. But over time, Justin really stood out. What impressed me most was his eagerness to learn—not just about the fraternity, but about life itself. He would often ask me for advice, and from there, our bond grew naturally. One of my funniest memories of Justin—also known as JLP—was when we went to Washington, D.C. to visit Sam and celebrate Richie’s birthday. Let’s just say Justin had a serious case of the chocolate squirts. It was bad! But to his credit, he powered through like a soldier. He still tried to hang out and enjoy the moment. We just knew that if Justin disappeared, he was in the bathroom handling business. A real one, through and through!

Justin and I have built a yearly tradition of attending the Cowboys vs. Giants game — a bonding experience rooted in football, heartbreak, and Justin’s relentless loyalty to the Giants. I mean, it takes a special kind of dedication to keep supporting a team that consistently plays like they were recruited off Craigslist. But that’s Justin: loyal to the core. If he can stick by the Giants through fumbles, interceptions, and emotional trauma, imagine the kind of love and loyalty he’ll show to his greatest blessing, Alex. Honestly, if he treats marriage like he treats his team, Alex is in for a lifetime of unwavering (and occasionally irrational) devotion. I’m truly lucky to call this delusional fan… I mean, this incredible guy… my brother

The memories I cherish the most about Justin’s and I’s bond is that in the years we’ve known each other, no distance has been too far to stop us from showing up for one another. From the days of our time together at OU to pulling up on him when he interned with the 76ers in Philly, to him coming to visit me when I lived in DC numerous times… we’ve seen each other through thick and thin, no matter where life has taken us. Whether it’s catching a flight across the country, hitting up different cities, or even driving hours just to pull up on one another, we’ve made it a tradition to always show up, no matter the place or time & I know that will never change. Here’s to many more adventures, no matter where life takes us.

It's a privilege to be a groomsman for Justin, a friend who feels more like family. Fun fact: we're both Libras OVO 4 Lifers! Our connection is through our shared brotherhood of Phi Beta Sigma. Me and JP have tore up the states together from coast to coast where our mutual appreciation for Drake's music often provided the soundtrack to our time together. Over the years, Justin has truly become like a younger brother to me. Beyond our shared interests, including a mutual love for all things fashion, it's his intentional and unwavering compassion and care for me and other that I truly value.
