We often joke that we were destined to meet, even though it took a dating app to finally bring us together. Though we grew up only a few miles apart from each other, our paths never quite crossed-until one fateful day when we matched on Hinge! Our first date at a coffee shop in Grapevine, TX called Brew & Batter led into countless memories made throughout our relationship over the past three years. Now, we share a home with our two dogs, Sophie and Holly, who fill our lives with joy. Little did we know that Brew & Batter would eventually be the very backdrop of a memory we will treasure forever. Jake had planned an elaborate date night to the Dallas Arboretum to see their Christmas lights after a lovely dinner in Dallas at The Henry. I was very excited, thinking this might be the moment he’d propose. We walked throughout the entire Arboretum, but instead of getting down on one knee under the twinkling lights, Jake had a different surprise in store. Jake had suggested to meet with some of his family for food and drinks after the Arboretum. I was unsuspecting as we drove to the Main Street District in Grapevine, where our first date at Brew & Batter also happened to be located. As we walked up to the coffee shop, he revealed to have transformed the entire front porch into a winter wonderland- dazzling lights, candles, and photos of our journey together. Jake got down on one knee as a few friends and family that helped with his reveal had secretly gathered nearby. And of course, I said yes! We’re so excited to spend this year planning our wedding and look forward to a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories together.
