we’re eloping!

We met over the internet rather unexpectedly. Even just knowing one another over the phone we quickly realized that this relationship was something special. After several weeks of texts and facetime calls, Jacob made the trek from Austin to Lake Jackson to finally visit me. We only had a few short days together before Jacob received a call for work in Colorado. He packed up his things and left Texas. This new distance between us felt like a huge inconvenience, so we had some big decisions to make. End things before they could even get started? Continue the relationship as a long distance couple? Do something crazy and move to Colorado together? Looking back, I am beyond thankful that Jacob and I are both hopeless romantics and seek the same level of spontaneity in life. Together we decided to start a life as one in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From then on we became a family of five. Jacob and I and our three dogs Lola, Wayne and Malcolm. We have made so many memories together over the last year and are unexplainably excited to continue on this journey of life together.

Just as unconventionally as our relationship began, so did our engagement. Jacob made several plans to propose which all fell through due to this ever changing life. Not wanting to wait any longer Jacob pulled over on the side of a road and asked me to get out of the car. He then go down on one knee and proposed in front of a corn field. To some this may not seem like much, but for us it was perfect. Intimate and spontaneous.
