A few weeks after creating an online dating profile, Ryan swiped up on Holly and they exchanged a few online pleasantries. On Saturday, January 30, 2021, Holly and Ryan met at a Rexburg sandwich shop for lunch. Ryan talked A LOT (he was a little nervous)! Ryan offered to shovel Holly's driveway but Holly, playing hard to get, declined the gesture. Ryan learned later the real reason Holly didn't want him shoveling her driveway. Unbeknownst to Ryan, online dating provides ample opportunities to meet people with unsavory characters and she didn't know him well enough to tell him where she lived. After their second date, Ryan scraped the ice from Holly's car windows while he let her warm up inside the car. (I would have said yes on the spot if he had proposed right then! - Holly) Other dates included visiting state and national parks, fishing, snowshoeing, walking, and skiing. In March 2021, while visiting Massacre Rocks State Park, an old lady foretold Holly and Ryan's future by confidently exclaiming, "They must be honeymooners!" Ryan loves Holly's smile, laugh, and sense of humor. He appreciates her intellect and insight. On November 21, 2021, Ryan proposed to Holly at the Green family mill site in Teton Canyon near Driggs. Ryan loves Holly and looks forward to spending life and eternity with her.
