We are so excited to see our family and best friends in April! We have many folks traveling from all over the country. With that in mind, we are sure many of you are making your trip to Charleston a vacation or long weekend. Please stay wherever you feel comfortable and want to spend the most time! Our wedding festivities are taking place in the French Quarter, located in downtown Charleston. There are plenty of hotels and Airbnbs to choose from. We can recommend a few Airbnbs on Folly Beach, which is a short car ride or Uber into the city. If you are not staying on the Peninsula (downtown Charleston), we would recommend James Island, Folly Beach, or the scenic Johns Island. While we *love* Mount Pleasant and the surrounding beaches (Sullivans Island and Isle of Palms), it may be a bit congested getting to the downtown area on our wedding day due to the closing of the Ravenel Bridge for the annual Cooper River Bridge Run.
If you decide to drive to the wedding festivities, the garage at 84 Cumberland Street is the best option to park your vehicle. Conveniently located between our Church and Reception sites.
Yes! You will have downtime between the ceremony and the reception, so take a moment to wander! You will stumble upon many quintessential Charleston homes, the City Market, Tommy Condon's Irish Bar, and more! We will see you for cocktail hour, starting at 5pm!
In Charleston, you're either dressed up, or you're in flip flops going to the beach! It is hard to find an in between. For our wedding day, we are going semi-formal. We want you to feel your best, but still be able to join us on the dance floor! Ladies, consider bringing block or sturdy heels. Many of our sidewalks are uneven. And while our cobblestone streets are very charming, they can be tricky to walk on!
