FAQs

Question

What is the attire?

Answer

Our event will be black-tie optional. If you have a tux, we encourage you to wear it but this is not required. Suits or longer dresses are appreciated.

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests. Please refer to your invitation to confirm the members of your party. We would like to keep this an intimate event with close friends and family.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. We kindly ask that you plan to arrive between 4:00-4:15 pm. The cocktail hour will begin at 6:00 pm with dinner and dancing to follow. We encourage you to arrive promptly at 6:00 pm or a few minutes prior to complete the required security check.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

St Mark's Episcopal Church has ample free parking directly across the street. Guests are permitted to park in the garage of the Ohio Statehouse free of charge for the duration of the wedding weekend (Friday-Sunday). Guests parked in the Ohio Statehouse garage will be given a parking pass at the reception. We encourage anyone who will be drinking to walk from the hotel or use Uber/Lyft.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

No, there will not be shuttles from the ceremony to the reception. It is a 10-15 minute drive from the ceremony at St Marks to the reception at the Statehouse. However, the Statehouse is approximately 1 block from the recommended hotels. As a reminder, guests may park overnight at the Statehouse for free, so we suggest driving or ubering between locations.

Question

What should I expect during the Statehouse security screening?

Answer

Similar to airport security, all guests will be required to pass through a metal detector and all bags or personal belongings will go through an x-ray machine. Any device deemed unsafe or dangerous by the Ohio State Highway Patrol will not be permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, weapons, knives and chemical mace.

Question

Are children allowed?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this will primarily be an adult's only affair. Please refer to your invitation to confirm the members of your party. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
