We met back in 2009 when Chris was at Wallkill, NY. He was assigned to Garfield Spanish Congregation and I would often socialize with the friends there. I thought he was such a nice guy and very cute… throughout the years we would randomly run into each other and briefly catch up on life. On January 2024, he came to New York for a visit and started with a tour at Warwick on my commute day. We again caught up on life and parted ways, however, this time it was different. 3 days later, Chris’ flight gets postponed due to weather and accepts a last minute Microsoft Teams message invite to my Ugly Sweater party. We stayed in touch and our friendship grew effortlessly. Chris called me soon after, while at the Griffith Observatory, to express his interest.

Moving to New York in 2009 changed my life. Little did I know my life would further change some 15 years after having met Grecia. Throughout those years I would see Grecia from time to time at events and random run-ins. Our interactions were always brief but pleasant and I appreciated how she would reach out and serve in the foreign language field. I also thought she was pretty attractive. When she invited me to her Ugly Sweater party, a winter storm was in my favor and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get to know her better and see her in her element. Things fell into place and I felt at home in her presence and among her friends.

Exactly one year after agreeing to a courtship, we got engaged on January 16, 2025 at the iconic Griffith Observatory. There are so many more precious details, but we can fill you in any day.
