We met through a mutual friend and from the moment we started talking, something just clicked. A week and a half later, we decided to meet in person for the first time and go on a date at Texas Roadhouse. I still remember how nervous I was, but as soon as I saw him, it felt like everything just fell into place. We’d never met in person before, but it was like we’d known each other forever. The very next day, he came to church with me. I remember how much it meant to me that he was willing to come with me. A few weeks later, he officially joined my church, and that felt like another step forward, it wasn’t just about church, it felt like he was becoming a part of my world. From that point on, we were basically inseparable. We became best friends. Laughing together, supporting each other, and making memories and we officially became a couple on August 14, 2024. One of my favorite days was when we spent that Saturday at the zoo with my nephew, Hudson. It was such a simple outing, but it felt so special, seeing how easily he bonded with Hudson, and how much fun we had just being together. We spent holidays together too. My first Thanksgiving with him, then Christmas, and then New Year’s. It felt so special to me to be part of his family and him be part of mine. Then, on January 3, 2025, came the moment I’ll never forget. He proposed to me in front of my youth group, and it was one of the most beautiful moments of my life. It wasn’t just about the proposal itself, but what it represented, the journey we’d already been on together and the journey we have ahead of us. It felt like a natural progression, from that first dinner at Texas Roadhouse to standing there, hand in hand, ready to start the next chapter. Looking back, I can’t believe how far we’ve come in such a short time. From meeting through a friend, to our first date, to church, family outings, and holidays together, each moment has brought us closer. And now, with this proposal, I know that this is just the beginning of our story.
