Heather's version: We met in 2020 on the dating app Hinge. After texting for awhile, Ben asked me on a date. After a couple of missed opportunities on my part, I finally set up a date time and did not cancel. Due to the pandemic, Ben asked me on a date to a park near my house. After consulting with some of his friends that were girls, he decided to bring unopened wine and pizza to the park for the date. The date lasted for hours. We continued to date, going to mini golf, dinners, and game nights. The night that I knew Ben was the one was when we were at my house hanging with my roommates, and Ben sang Wonderwall by Oasis to me. I just loved that he could hang out with my friends and be weird just like me. After a year and a half of dating, we made the move to Denver. In June 2023, Ben proposed in a park (just like our first date). It was such a great surprise. He had our friends hiding taking pictures and set up an engagement party with our Denver friends. It was the best night. I am so excited to marry him. Ben's Version: After a few years off of the dating apps I got back on in 2020 during the pandemic. I was on for a few weeks before I came across Heather's profile and found that we had a mutual interest. We started texting and I asked her on a date. After a few failed attempts we finally had a date on the calendar. We went to a park by her house where I brought some pizza and wine. We sat and talked for 3 hours before we had to leave because it was getting dark. It went well because when I kept asking her on dates she would always say yes. We became official on 10/2/2020 and never looked back. We then decided to do something crazy and moved to Denver in July of 2022. After a year out here I decided to pop the question at a park we love in Denver with another picnic just like our first date. She said yes! We were able to celebrate with friends before heading to San Diego for a fun little get away with just us two. I knew early on that Heather was someone I didn't want to be without and I'm beyond excited to marry this woman and spend the rest of our lives together.
