We're getting married!

Darius and Joanette met while serving in children's ministry at New Harvest Ministries International. It didn't take rocket science to see that the two of them would be a great complement to each other (Many people would openly share it-LOL). A little birdie even said, “Joan was attracted to Darius too” (hahaha). Their smiles, love for God and joy for life were evident when you encountered them individually. It was even observed that it was something special between Darius and Joan when the two sat on the couch at church acting in a skit. It brought great laughter to all who watched as they seemed so natural and great for one another. Darius sought the Lord and on Sunday, July 29, 2018 after Joan's charitable benefit, he called and asked the big question. "Joan you're always doing nice things for others. Your heart is so big. I would like to do something nice for you. I would like to release the Love of the Father upon you." Friday, August 3, 2018, Joan and Darius had their 1st date. At the end of the night, Darius looked at Joan and said, "This has been a storybook of a day!"

Darius and Joan always enjoy quality time together and planned fun date days. This time Darius asked to take the lead on showering Joan with Love. Joan didn't think anything out of the ordinary as they loved to surprise each other. First, they went to the "Wndr" Museum in Chicago. This pop up museum had interactive exhibits. Darius and Joan were like two little teenagers... laughing, dancing, making funny faces and having a blast. The night continued with Darius surprising Joan with a speedboat ride and dinner at Navy Pier. The Big Day: Saturday comes and Joan gets all dolled up with makeup and styled beautifully, as Darius shared that they would be enjoying a nice photoshoot. First stop, the Willis Tower as they both never stood on the sky deck before. Afterwards, while driving, he says "I have another surprise!" They walked into this cute and quaint restaurant with an intimate and picturesque setting with sounds of a live pianist, dimmed lighting and delicious eats, dinner for two at Geja's. While talking Darius starts rushing Joan to finish and becomes antsy. Joan rushes to eat dessert. Darius is getting up as though he's leaving and grabs her hand. Not knowing, both of their families had come in and were standing there. Joan looked over and saw everyone and the tears started flowing. He asked, & Joan said YES before their moms, siblings, and pastors.
