We're getting married!

Every love story has its own unique spark, and ours began with a mutual friend who unknowingly played matchmaker. Andrew has been a basketball star since high school, so when he joined Guelph University's basketball team it was no surprise. Between practices, games, and classes, Andrew and his teammate Drew hit it off, and eventually became roommates. They shared inside jokes and countless adventures that bonded them for life. I spent most of my university days studying, writing papers, going to my clinical placements and just trying to get through nursing school. After graduating and during the first summer since officially starting my nursing career, I reconnected with some of my closest friends from high school--Drew being one of them. On one summer night out in Toronto, when Andrew was out with some of his teammates, and I was out with my best friend, we ran into each other for the first time. Fast-forward a couple of weeks and a few text messages here and there, we decided to meet for drinks to learn more about each other. What started off as a casual introduction through a mutual friend turned into hours of conversation, laughter and an undeniable connection. By the end of our first date, we both knew something special had begun. To this day, we often thank our friend Drew for his unintentional matchmaking skills. And as we look into the future, we are reminded how one conversation can lead to a lifetime of partnership and love.
