Grant likes to claim we met at the Ellensburg Taco Bell. But, we actually met right before that at an electronic music festival at the Gorge, where we were both volunteering with the same harm reduction group. I was shy, but I thought he was funny and had pretty blue eyes. Like in many modern love stories... he happened to slide into my Instagram DMs after we met. We bonded over our shared favorite musical artist at the time as well as our love for hard cider.

On September 21st, 2019, we celebrated our birthdays together since Grant's birthday was one week before, and mine was one week later. We had a small party with friends at Grant's apartment, and during the evening, he asked me to be his girlfriend. It worked well, because we could never forget our anniversary going forward, since that date has a whole song about it!

We were in Hawaii on the Big Island for my 30th birthday. We visited a waterfall called Rainbow Falls where Grant popped the question. Unfortunately, it was cloudy so there was no rainbow, and the waterfall was just kind of "pee colored"... Grant also didn't let my friends who were there know that he was proposing, so he proposed when they weren't looking. Still, we'll appreciate the effort :)
