Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Mia Serrano Medina and Grant Guggisberg
We are so excited, and more importantly grateful, for everyone that took the time out of their busy schedules to come celebrate our wedding day with us! If you know anything about me- you know I love Puerto Rico and its culture so much. So, I've compiled a list for you of my favorite places to visit. Some tips: don't stay in San Juan/metro area only. The island is small enough for you to appreciate so much of its vastness in a few days with proper planning. Whether you came here solo or with loved ones, I hope our wedding serves as an opportunity to take some time to revisit the things in life that matter - good times with the people we love. ~Mia
Viejo San Juan

Viejo San Juan

San Juan, San Juan 00901, Puerto Rico

So easy to spend a whole day here. Good restaurants, historic sights and tons of scenic views. Viejo San Juan (Old San Juan) was the first place I took Grant to the first time he came to the island. We spent all day walking down the cobblestone streets as he learned about the culture I won't shut up about (haha) and became enchanted with it instantly. That day it was pouring rain though, so we were pretty much the only lunatics walking around completely soaked head to toe. One of my absolute favorite memories :)

El Yunque National Forest

Lush, green, gorgeous. The lung of the island. There are different trails all varying in difficulty. Check out the link for more information.

Bahía Bioluminiscente

Bahía Bioluminiscente

00765, Puerto Rico

The bioluminescence of the bay is contingent upon weather conditions, moon phase, and water currents. The glow is produced by a delicate bacterium, so meteorological phenomena definitely affect it. It is a magical wonder to witness this water glow, but just like it can be affected by storms, it can also be affected by products we use (soap, shampoo, lotion) so be gentle and try to limit the touching!

This was worth every penny! 10/10 recommend!

Absolutely one of my favorit experiences. Being out in the open ocean in the crystal clear water with the safety and knowledge of a seasoned crew was so great. They took us to three different beaches and let us jump in and swim for a while as well as took pictures of us. The crew is bilingual, so communication won't be an issue for anyone!

La Placita de Santurce

La Placita de Santurce

300 Calle dos Hermanos, San Juan, San Juan 00909, Puerto Rico

During the day, La Placita (little plaza) is a great family friendly place to come eat some good food, listen to some salsa and walk around. At night (around 10pm) it really comes to life though. As salsa turns into reggaeton and the partying begins, it's no wonder this is such a hot tourist spot. Nobody can party like we can, that's for sure. Police Officers tend to walk around to secure the area but - practice situational awareness and be safe! Just like any active night scene with a lot of people, things can get a bit chaotic at times. Nonetheless, water is free but drinks are expensive!!! (tip: pre-game for sure) If you come to a night at La Placita, you're in for a wild night of dancing and fun and simply want to stay in PR forever. I don't blame ya.

Playa Jobos

My favorite beach! It's cozy and gorgeous, bring some drinks and lounge for hours. Stress doesn't exist here.
