Maid of Honor
Laura is my sister! She has been & still is one of the biggest role models in my life! She has taught me a lot about faith, family, & hard work! Laura is one of the most determined people I know & can accomplish just about anything. She pushes me to be better and is always the first one to offer me help. I love spending time with her on Whitsitt Farms, as well as traveling the world with her! I couldn’t ask for a better example & big sis to do life with!
Bridesmaid
Melissa & I met in Ms. Drapers’ 3rd grade class where our wild & crazy adventure began! She and I have many memories throughout middle school dances, high school laughs, college, & have even taught Kindergarten together as adults! Over the summer of 2018, Melissa and I spent almost every day together. We had so many awesome times that summer from lounging in our kiddy pools in the backyard to joining a police chase on a Sunday morning! There aren’t many memories in my life that don’t have MWhit & MDartt together! I am truly thankful.
Bridesmaid
Leslie & I became friends in 2004. She has taught me so much about honesty and the qualities of a genuine friendship. She has blessed me with 2 special nieces that I love dearly! You can find me in Leslie’s classroom each Friday after school relaxing & exchanging stories from the school week! I was so nervous about Aubrey & Blake meeting Grant because as we all know kids are tough critics! The girls fell just as much in love with Grant as he did them! Now each time I see them before I get my “Hi Mere” I get “Where’s Grant?” I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Bridesmaid
I met Whit in the Spring of 2006 in the White College dormitory, @ Murray State University. Thank goodness those dorm walls can’t talk! Since then, Whitney has been my ‘sounding board’ throughout life telling me the good, the bad, & the ugly. Whitney and I have a friendship that I am so thankful for. She and I share a summer tradition of packing a bag and escaping life to the beach! We’ve had a few questionable experiences so far, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world. We sit for a few days in the sand and exchange stories of our classrooms and lives. I’ve learned a lot from her & I am truly blessed.
Best Man
For the past 20 years, Brock and I have been best friends. We are both super competitive with each other at about any sport you can think of. Basketball, golf, ping pong, the list goes on and on! We have shared in so many memories and crazy adventures, a series of novels could be filled. Which would be a fantastic read by the way! It has been an absolute honor to grow up with Brock and to see the man that he has become today. He is a loving husband to his beautiful and amazing wife Katie, and a wonderful Father to his adorable son Mason! These are only a few examples of how lucky I am to have Brock as a friend and how honored I am to have him as my Best Man.
Groomsman
Brother: A person who is there when you need him; someone who picks you up when you fall; a person who sticks up for you when no one else will; a brother is always a friend. I thank God every day that I am blessed with having my big brother be Spencer Garrett Thurmond. Growing up he and I have always been extremely close. He’s taught me through the years how to be respectful, courteous to others, and kept my drive going to always be a better man! He’s always in my corner, no matter what. Which has led to us developing such a strong bond. He loves Meredith to no end, and to see how they are together continues to validate her joining into our family! It’s a privilege and honor to have Spencer as my brother, and to be right there by my side on our wedding day!
Groomsman
To have the opportunity of growing up with Anthony has been such a privilege! From being young mischievous boys sledding off the roof of the barn into the snow, to crazy teenagers learning to drive and always getting into trouble. Now to the men we have become today. Anthony has always been one of the hardest workers that I’ve ever known, and also the most disciplined. Any goal he sets, he achieves! It’s so incredible to see how much of an amazing father he is to his two sons and also his beautiful new daughter Scarlett! He and his wife Katie are truly blessed! It wasn’t even a question in my mind to have him right there with me standing up, and an honor to have him as a groomsman on the day I wed the love of my life!
Usher
Tyler is my first cousin, but he has always been more like a brother to me. Tyler & I grew up working on Whitsitt Farms each summer where we made memories that we still talk about each time we are together! We attended our first mission trip to Mexico together where we served God & survived Tyler’s extreme fear of flying! Tyler was a convenient ride to work in the summer, an over protective brother in high school, and still is an amazing mentor as an adult! I am very proud of the example he is today & I cherish his wife, Sara and their 4 kids! Any spare weekend I can, I love to escape & visit the “Sturm house!” It’s always filled with laughter, long night talks, & homemade pancakes! There’s a story about the first time Grant met Tyler & Sara- we will let Sara tell that one! Haha
