Grant and I met our junior year of high school. We had chemistry class together at the very end of the day. I started noticing that he would steal a glance at me now and then from across the room and we would both blush when I caught him. Grant and I are very shy people, so I think we were both surprised when he asked me to get a slushy with him after school. I said no. But Grant was persistent and I agreed after he asked twice more. We went out for slushies after school one day and then went back to his house to watch a movie. Since Grant is a genius, he picked a horror movie. It was a perfect plan because I would hide my face at every scary scene and he quickly made his move to put a protective arm around me. At the end of the night he sent me home with a quick, awkward kiss and from there our love has grown so much. We made it through the rest of high school and college after that. We have dreamt of our wedding day for five years now and we are just so thrilled celebrate our love with all of our favorite people.

The Deck, our favorite restaurant in Muskegon, just opened for the summer season. Grant and I had planned out a date the week before. We were going to dinner and then a walk on the beach afterwards. Dinner was great and I was totally clueless as we headed to the beach for a walk. Grant brought a blanket and we sat on the beach watching the boats for a bit. There was a pause in conversation and that's when Grant told me he had something for me. He handed me a note which I could hardly read because my eyes were already so full of tears. He got onto one knee and asked me to be his wife. Best. Day. Ever.
