We met on a fall afternoon at the start of Cassie's 1st year and Grant's 2nd year of college at the University of Montana in Missoula. Our mutual friends, Maddie and Andrew, introduced us. When Grant walked into the room, there was an unmistakable connection between us. Our love of grass-fed steaks and goofy TV shows brought us even closer. Since then, we've been joined at the hip for almost 8 years.

After a romantic trip to Paris in the summer of 2019, Grant finally knew he was ready to propose. While he normally takes some convincing to book a vacation, he quickly (perhaps suspiciously) jumped onboard to a last-minute trip to Cabo for our 6 year anniversary. On our anniversary, we planned a romantic candlelit dinner at the best restaurant at the resort. Thinking the proposal would happen that night, Cassie was completely surprised when Grant popped the question during a walk on a secluded beach that morning. So surprised, that when she turned around and saw him kneeling, her first thought was that he must have stepped on one of the many jelly fishes lining the shores and was kneeling in pain. The moment was perfectly intimate and funny - exactly how our relationship has been since the start.
