Ashlyn and Grant met in the Spring of 2019 at their adored alma mater, Wofford College. It all began at Wofford’s last student-run investment club meeting of the semester, where Ashlyn was informed that she would be joining Grant’s group in the Fall semester. After the 2019 Spring semester ended, the two continued communicating through the summer, looking forward to being back on campus in the fall for the highly anticipated participation in the investment club with Grant as the top dog. Due to the art of flirting, Grant tutored Ashlyn in a finance class… or two, and they spent time working together on the monthly investment club presentations. After an evening of studying, Grant asked Ashlyn to continue the night and have dinner at Manny’s, his favorite restaurant in Spartanburg. Ashlyn was very impressed with Grant and his sense of humor and ability to make her smile, even while studying finance, so she happily joined. Unfortunately, they were sent home early in the Spring of 2020 due to Covid, yet, despite the distances between their hometowns of Hickory, NC, and Roswell, GA, Ashlyn and Grant kept “investing” in their relationship. The world of everything became virtual, so they had FaceTime dates in the evenings to watch movies and bond over their love for stand-up comedy. The two officially began dating in January of 2022 after a return to reality. As in most fairy tales, the guy gets the girl, and Grant surprised Ashlyn with the most beautiful ring on her 24th birthday after dinner on June 2nd, 2023, at The Falls Park on the Reedy in Greenville, South Carolina. They love to spend time traveling together on the weekends and enjoy good food and rooftop bars with a view! Cheers to the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Melton!
