Anna and I met at a Bible Study that we were both attending in Pella in 2022. Over the course of 2 years we slowly started talking and getting to know one another. In the beginning of 2024 we became closer friends. In August of 2024 we realized we might have interest in each other as more than just friends. In Sept. 2024 we went out by ourselves and not in a group setting for ice cream after work to catch up since we both had been busy and to see if there was something there. We started dating soon after. The rest is history.

I (Anna) and some of my family took a trip to St. Augustine over my birthday and Grant surprised me on the plane by joining us on the trip. On the plane ride Grant casually mentioned that we should go by the beach on my birthday. I, unknowing what was going to happen, thought it was a great idea. The next day we went by the beach and he had packed the lunch basket all himself and I didn’t know what was in it although I assumed it was sandwiches. Then as we set out the blanket and were about to sit down, Grant gave me my birthday letter (we have written letters to each other on special occasions) and as I finished reading it one of the last lines was “I hope you say yes..”I said yes!!! 😱🥹🩷🥳
