FAQs

Question

Will I have to pay the $8 per vehicle state park entrance fee?

Answer

The parking pass that was included in your invitation allows you complimentary access to the park courtesy of the bride and groom. Please present the pass to the booth attendant upon arrival. Carpooling is greatly appreciated. In the event you have purchased a 2019 Empire park pass, please use this annual pass instead to defer costs away from the bride and groom. Thank you in advance.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive by 10:15 AM to ensure you have enough time to grab a drink and greet your neighbors. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 AM.

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Clothes are mandatory. Preferably "garden attire" so something along the lines of sundresses, floral prints, button-downs with khakis or suits in lighter hues. Note that this wedding is being held outdoors (no AC) in the middle of summer.

Question

Can we take pictures?

Answer

We have hired an amazing photographer to document the big day and therefore we kindly ask that you do not use cameras or phones during the ceremony. We'd like our guests to be present in this special moment with us. We will be sure to share ceremony pictures with you online in the months following. After the ceremony, take as many photos as you’d like and share them (the flattering ones) with us on social media.

Question

Is the wedding being held outdoors?

Answer

Yes! Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. Please dress accordingly.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception held at the same location?

Answer

Yes! The ceremony and reception will both be located at the North Point Pavilion. Taughannock State Park Access Road Trumansburg, NY 14886

Question

Where exactly is the wedding?

Answer

We know Taughannock Falls State Park is a large area, but if you plug "Taughannock State Park Access Road" into your GPS, it will take you right to our ceremony at the North Point Pavilion. For those who do not have access to a GPS, my best advice is to ride with someone who does. From Ithaca, it will be the second park entrance on your right (the first is the main entrance). This is just over the bridge that has the lower falls running underneath. When traveling South on NYS 89, the entrance will be on the left hand side just after the cabin area. If coming from Trumansburg, you will pass the falls overlook on your right and proceed down Taughannock Park Rd. Take a right at the bottom of the hill and we will be the first entrance on your left.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

On our website (you're in the right place). Head over to the "RSVP" tab. Type in your name, select your name, choose "will attend" or "will not attend" for each of the guests you are RSVPing for, answer the questions, and click submit. If you provide your e-mail address, you will receive an e-mail notification verifying your submission.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by June 15th, but the sooner the better.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

It's 5 o'clock somewhere right? Cocktail hour will begin directly after the ceremony. Food and drinks will be served while the bride and groom pardon themselves for a few photo-ops.

Question

Will a meal be served?

Answer

Yes, please join us for a light brunch following the ceremony and cocktail hour. We estimate the meal stations will open around 12:30 PM. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know and we will do our very best to accommodate your requests.

Question

Will alcoholic beverages be served?

Answer

Yes. Please find a designated driver to ensure appropriate transportation to and from the wedding. We love you and want you to get home safe!

Question

Is there a back-up plan incase of inclement weather?

Answer

Yes, of course! You know us better than that. Plan A is to enjoy a beautiful summer day outdoors. Plan B, incase of rain showers, is to take cover under a large tent on the same premises. Plan C, in the event of extreme muckiness, is to celebrate at Higher Hope Church in Big Flats, NY. If Plan C becomes a go, it will be communicated to you at least 24 hours in advance.

Question

I'm from out of town, where should I stay?

Answer

Please visit the "Travel" tab of our website for more information about reserving a room under our discounted-rate hotel block. Please note that, unfortunately, the hotel does not provide transportation to/from the wedding.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Family is important to us; however we do recommend that you consider making our wedding a "date day" per se to fully RELAX and enjoy the morning. With that being said, some children are indeed invited (ex. first cousins, children of friends traveling from out of town). Refer to your formal invitation for clarification. Please note, high chairs are not available at the meal.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We look forward to celebrating our wedding day with a close, intimate group of friends and family. If your formal invitation did not include another name, we have only reserved a seat for you. Don't worry, there will be plenty of fun humans to mingle with.

Question

Can I request a song to be played at the reception?

Answer

Yes! Text your requests to Grant at 607-738-4314 and he will add them to the playlist.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please let us know in advance and we will try our best to make accommodations.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

If you have any further questions about our special day, please do not hesitate to contact us! We'd recommend reaching out to Alia as she is much more likely to respond in a timely manner. You may reach her at 607-483-5939 or via e-mail at aliaburlew@gmail.com. Note, there will also be a day-of coordinator to answer your questions at the ceremony/reception. Her name is Hannah and she can be reached at 607-481-8821.
