Sarah P. Duke Gardens
Gorgeous gardens with both paved and unpaved trails to explore. Duke Gardens neighbors Duke's West Campus for those who also want to tour the main campus or visit Duke Chapel!
Rose's Noodles, Dumplings and Sweets
Delicious food (get an ice cream sandwich), also close to Brightleaf Square downtown. Good area for exploring! They are also a brunch option and you will want a reservation.
Dino’s Pizza
Not downtown but great pizza and pasta, located directly underneath Gizmo Brewing. Eric is a very loyal customer.
Durham Farmers' Market
The Farmers Market is open on Saturdays 9am-12pm! Right next to Central Park and many other downtown Durham classics. Rise Biscuits and Donuts is located in this area.
9th Street
So many different restaurants and shops to explore on this street! It is right next to Duke University's East Campus (where they sequester the freshmen) which is circled by a gravel walking trail for those who want to stretch their legs. Looking for breakfast or brunch options? Go to Elmo's Diner on 9th Street. It's a Durham staple. Also, Monuts is closeby and originated in the Cookery. Note - Monuts is closed on Sundays, so don't wait until Sunday.

Emma's favorite hot yoga studio! Great for anyone looking to sweat out toxins, unwind, or refresh from the night before.
Pizzeria Toro
Located downtown, about two blocks from where Emma used to live! This place is hands down the best pizza you will have in N.C.
American Tobacco Campus
Nextdoor to DPAC and the Durham Bull's Stadium, American Tobacco Campus is home to lots of cute shops and tasty resturants. Lunch and brunch options: Parker and Otis is a classic! They also have a fun store so an opportunity to get early holiday gifts. Press Crepes is another option.
