As many of you know, Christopher and I come from an incredibly small town. The kind where everyone knows everyone, although we attended different elementary/middle schools. Christopher went to Batavia Middle School, and I attended St. Joseph's. It was during these very early years that my grandma worked in the cafeteria of BMS (known as the "candy lady"). At least once a week she would tell me, "That Christopher Grammatico is so cute, he should be your boyfriend someday!" I would give her the classic middle school eye roll, having no idea just how right she was! We always knew of each other and had the same mutual friends, sharing some of the best summer's together at Camp Hough on Silver Lake. Fast forward about 5 more years and Grammy's wish comes true...
As we got older, Chris and I began to see each other a lot more than just at summer camp. We had started going to the same high school and our friend groups grew closer. I'm sure somewhere around this time we became "Facebook Official". We both went to each other's proms and the rest, as they say, is history!
After taking a leap of faith and moving to Boston, MA together a few months prior, Chris and I got engaged at one of our favorite Boston spots. We had just gotten home from a Red Sox game and to my knowledge were going for a walk to get nachos (our absolute favorite). We took a detour, and Chris managed to get the whole proposal on camera as he asked a by-stander to take our picture! I still don't believe that he was there on accident. It took everything in us not to call our parents right away, but we followed through and went for nachos and celebratory drinks! We drove back to Batavia the next morning and surprised our families who were just as excited as we were. Definitely the best weekend to date!
