The dinosaurs heard it first! While at the Brewsology Beer Festival at the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences in the summer of 2021, our mutual friends concocted a plan to set us up on a blind date. We had both recently moved to Houston to start our residencies, and our mutual interest in cardiology helped to kick off our love story. Our first date was at Caitie’s favorite restaurant Guadalajara Mexican Grille, where we got water instead of margaritas because Graham was too nervous to get a drink on a first date - he recognized his mistake when we went back a few months later and he realized they are the best in the city! Our second date was at The Grove in Discovery Green in downtown Houston, where our waiter accidentally thought we were celebrating an anniversary and brought us a chocolate cake to apologize, which we promptly left on the table by accident after asking for a to-go box. Every date was a new adventure, and our lives became more and more intertwined. We explored Houston, discovered shared hobbies, grew in faith together, survived long-distance dating, started new jobs, and traveled across the country. And all the while falling more and more in love with each other. After 2 years of dating, we got engaged in Discovery Green overlooking the Houston skyline. We cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together! We are looking forward to all of the new adventures we will have, and especially our annual visits to the Brewsology Festival where it all started!
