Sometime’s You Just Know!

It seems like fate finally caught up to us... When Zach and Jennifer were in high school they had numerous random connections. It seemed like they couldn't go more than a few months without hearing each others names. They never became friends but it never felt like they were far off from that. Zach’s best man knew both of them for a number of years but yet they never happened to connect. Finally one night in 2018, Jennifer decided to go out to Universal Joint in Clayton to connect with some old friends and then she saw Zach dancing and singing like crazy in front of a live band. She watched him for a few minutes and then jokingly looked at one of her friends and said “Whoever that is, I’m going to marry him one day”.

And she was so right...

That night Jennifer remembers trying anything to get his attention. He probably thought she was crazy but hey, he still does. She was constantly thinking to herself, “This guy is way too cool for me. There is no way he will like me”. Well after spending most of the night together it was time to say good night. As she got in her car to drive home she looked at him and said “You better text me in the morning”. And he did! Two days later he drove all the way down to Atlanta to see her. It was Halloween and he was headed back to the military base in Savannah. He told Jennifer that he needed to get a haircut before going back so she offered to cut his hair. Jennifer frantically called her sister, Catherine, in search of clippers and gave the first and last haircut of her entire life. It was so so bad. He smiled the whole time and told her that he loved it afterwards and that’s when she knew. She needed someone this kind in her life. The next weekend Jennifer drove down to Savannah to visit Zach and they spent an entire day on the beach. Something had clicked.

Then There Were Three!

But their love story didn’t end with Zach and Jennifer meeting and falling in love. The true magic was when Walker met Zach. Walker chose Zach. From the moment they met Walker started calling him “dada”. Everyone would try to stop him and explain to Walker that his name was actually Zach but no matter how hard anyone tried it never changed. Walker had decided that he found his daddy and no one was going to change that. It takes a truly amazing man to love and take on a child as his own. Over the next two months Zach took every opportunity to learn how to interact with and care for Walker. He poured his heart and soul into learning to be the best dad possible and goodness did he succeed. The most important thing about our love story is that it is the joining of THREE people not two. We have created not just a couple but a whole family through our mutual love and respect for each other. And we cannot wait to celebrate what God did in our lives with all of you.

For all the days along the way
