Graesyn had heard about Riley (and Cam) for months before she actually got to meet them... her family would gush about Riley and how cute he was - a very young English Cream Golden Retriever puppy!! Cam had just bought Riley, so he was such an adorable puppy. Graesyn's parents and brothers would always stop and visit Riley for pets and rubs when they would pass Cam and Riley while they were on their walks, so they got to know Cam pretty quickly. After a few months of hearing ALL about this Riley and Cam, Graesyn had to meet them. One night, her brother came inside and announced that Riley was outside and ready to play in the front yard with Ruger (Graesyn's family's black lab), so Graesyn grabbed her 110lb Golden Pyrenees, Albie, and headed out to see what all the fuss was about. That was the evening Graesyn met Cam. They talked; they laughed while the dogs chased each other around the yard. A couple of weeks later, Graesyn was driving home from work when she saw Cam and Riley pass by her parents’ house on their walk. She rolled down her window, yelled for them to come play, got Albie, and they chatted for a bit then. As they got to know each other, they realized they had grown up living on the same street almost all their childhoods (just at different times, of course), went to the same middle and high school, and both attended East Carolina University for undergrad. Pretty crazy! Graesyn was trying to get back into walking everyday so she told Cam if he goes every day, they should take the boys together. From there, they started walking Albie and Riley together almost every single day – some days Graesyn’s dad would join and they’d go at 6am and other days, it would just be Graesyn and Cam in the evening, after work, joking around and getting to know one another more. The more time they spent together, the fonder they grew of each other. Cam’s temporary plans to move away changed and it allowed them the perfect time to build a foundational relationship and grow to love one another… and that is how their love story started. From there, many memories have been made – from weekend trips to Corolla where we found our favorite breakfast spot, Coastal Cravings in Duck (BEST pancakes ever (and we hate pancakes) We highly recommend checking it out when in town for the wedding, even if you strongly dislike pancakes) and perhaps our most treasured date night spot, The Paper Canoe in Duck. We have sat many a dinner on the waterfront, watching the sunset, eating amazing food, growing closer, and celebrating our love and wins in life. Another thing we have enjoyed doing together is chasing ballparks. We are both huge baseball fans (Go Orioles! – Graesyn and Go Mets! – Cam) and so far, we have been to these home ballparks – Orioles, Phillies, Nationals, Astros, Rangers, Braves, and more on our own… but our goal is to do all of them together! As you know, marriage is about sacrifice and compromise, and somehow along the way, this ballpark chase turned into a stadium/football chase too. So we have had the opportunity to watch UT Longhorn and UGA Bulldog football at their home stadiums, and also got a SUPER long tour through the Cowboys dome. In our free time, we still love to take Albie and Riley on long walks, spend time with our families, and cheer on the Pirates in football and baseball. We can't wait for a lifetime of this with each other!!
