Kayla and Matt met on their very first day working at PwC. It was no secret that Matt strategically sat at the same table as Kayla during orientation. They quickly became close friends and even joined the company flag football team together. After a couple months of getting to know one another as friends, Matt asked Kayla out on a date and their friendship has grown stronger ever since.

Kayla and Matt started dating in 2019 shortly before the COVID pandemic spread throughout the states. They went from working together every day in person at PwC to quickly getting forced into a work from home environment. When it was announced that Boston was getting shut down, Kayla fled to Hilton Head Island to stay with her family during an unpredictable time. Little did Kayla and Matt know that 2 months would go by without getting to see one another. Flights to Hilton Head were scarce and they didn't want to risk catching COVID on the plane. Matt made up his mind that he would drive 16 hours by himself to Hilton Head to spend 2 weeks with Kayla's family. This is where Matt met Kayla's parents for the first time. There was no question in that moment that Kayla and Matt would spend the rest of their lives doing whatever the needed to do to be together.

After almost 4 years of dating, Matt popped the question in the Seaport in Boston, MA where Kayla and Matt spend a great deal of time. Matt told Kayla that it was a beautiful day and they should walk to the Seaport for lunch. While walking along the water, Matt called out "Riley", and their beloved golden retriever appeared wearing a bandana that said "Will you Marry my Dad?". Kayla turned around to find Matt on one knee. Then Kayla discovered that Matt had arranged for her best friends Briana and Anna to fly to Boston from CA and NY to be there for the proposal. When Kayla and Matt got home from the Seaport, Kayla was surprised yet again by their closest friends who were there to celebrate the night with them. It was truly the best day.
