We met the summer going into high school at the ages of 14 and 15, and honestly, didn't think much of it. That is until sophomore year, Joe found me crying at my locker. He then proceeded to be the sweetest 17 year old boy by wiping my tears away with some lunch napkins. A few months later, with our best friends (our bridesmaids and groomsmen) by our side, we started to date. Who would have thought we were starting our forever?! We continued to date, 1,800 miles apart while Joe was studying Geology at University of Colorado, Boulder, and I studying Nursing at Towson University. Fast forward through the 4 years of college, we landed slightly closer to each other while Joe accepted his admission to University of Delaware's graduate program. Joe started his masters in Chemical Oceanography while I began working as a pediatric nurse at Saint Peter's in New Jersey. I would travel down to the beach where Joe was studying, and we made our couple of days together all worth the distance. Fast forward to the end of Joe's schooling and were were given the opportunity to finally land in the same state. Joe applied and accepted a position on Cape Cod as a systems Engineer building ocean robots while I applied and accepted a position at Boston Children's Hospital in their medical ICU. Together we ended up smack dab in the middle of our workplaces at the beach, in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Shortly after celebrating eight years of dating, we went to celebrate Joe's research defense and him obtaining his Master's. Little did I know Joe's celebratory dinner plans weren't just celebrating phytoplankton and robots. Joe proposed at Porto Leggero, his Uncle's restaurant that is very special to us, with our parents by our sides. Since being engaged, we have settled up here in Plymouth, MA and have truly loved each other's company. We have been planning for this special day and could not be more excited to share it all with the people who mean the most.
