One late August night after my double at Backporch Drafthouse I sat down to eat some dinner with friends. While I was eating I got a phone call from a friend telling me to get to Whiskeyta ASAP to see this really tall, cute guy! Meanwhile, I was thinking no way is there a tall handsome man in Wichita Falls. So I hung up and continued to eat my dinner and ponder the thought. A few minutes later I got another phone call from a different friend from a different friend group saying the exact same thing. At this point I had to see who they were talking about. I finally made my way to Whiskeyta and I walk in the door and look to the left back corner and see a table full of my friends waving me down with the most good-looking man on the planet. I sat across the table from Taylor and we talked until 2am. He got up to leave and I just couldn't let him go without giving him my phone number. So I reached out and grabbed him by the arm and gave him my number. Not 3 minutes later did he text me the most respectful text I'd ever received from a man. From that moment on I was head over heels.

In March 2021 I had won a couples photoshoot on Instagram. Because Tay and I are coaches we had to book a date months later so I wrote it down 06-05-21 on our whiteboard in our kitchen. The date was approaching and rain was in the forecast. Our photographer (Melissa) texted me asking if we could go ahead and take the pictures a night early to ensure sunshine and no delays. Apparently Taylor had previously messaged Melissa to set up the proposal (I HAD NO IDEA). On the drive to the photoshoot Taylor acted completely normal, meanwhile I'm watching the WCWS on my phone in the passenger seat, imagine that. We pull up to Eagle Mountain Park, a place we've hiked before, and get out to meet our photographer. Melissa walked us to our first sight for pictures and she took a couple pictures to check lighting. Apparently her and Taylor had talked about a phrase that she would say so that he knew she was ready. First location, a couple takes later, and Taylor takes a step away and is on one knee. I stared into his eyes and couldn't believe what was happening. He so sweetly asked me to marry him. I screamed "Oh, my goodness, yes, yes, yes," and now I get to spend forever with him.
