Liam and I both started at Brigham Young University–Idaho in 2017. We hung out in the same buildings and had friends in the same apartment complexes. I worked at Five Guys, his favorite place to eat on campus. We took the same math courses, just an hour apart–and yet, somehow, we never met. Winter of 2018, we both transferred from Brigham Young in pursuit of college that was a better fit, and we both found Idaho State University. That was when we finally found each other, though our paths had clearly been winding together for some time. I’m not sure if it was the cute ‘98 VW Beetle he pulled up in on our first date or the way he played with my family’s dog that first made me fall for him. That summer, I swear we spent every day together: camping, vacationing in Yellowstone, and sharing road-trips to Salt Lake. When the summer faded to fall, we made the next leap in our lives–together. We now live in a small one-bedroom house in Idaho Falls, working long hours and saving pennies, so we can otherwise share our lives, playing Minecraft together, eating too much Chick-fil-A, and cuddling with our cat, Sugar-Pea. I hadn’t expected to meet my soulmate this early in life, but I’m so happy I did.
