We met in 2020 on a bike ride in Spokane, WA, one of the few socially acceptable activities during COVID, through mutual friends from school. At the time, we were both juniors at Gonzaga University. Grace immediately caught Gabe's attention with her beauty and humor, even if biking wasn't her strongest suit. Grace, in turn, thought Gabe was a goofball, but also incredibly kind. After a few group hangouts, Gabe decided to take a chance and emailed her through our school accounts, asking if she’d be interested in going on a one-on-one bike ride. After navigating a bit of rejection, COVID scares, and even wildfire smoke, we finally went on that ride and we've been inseparable ever since. Since then, we’ve grown together through 2.5 years of long-distance, unforgettable trips, Grace moving across the country to live with Gabe, and, eventually, making a big move from Louisiana to Texas — where we bought our first home in 2025. Along the way, we’ve found joy in the little things: thrifting, cooking dinner side-by-side, and spending time with those we love. The proposal took place in October 2024 at a small botanical garden in Grace’s hometown. Gabe was nervous but filled with excitement. Grace later admitted she had an inkling it was coming — but she had no idea Gabe had secretly coordinated with our families and closest friends to meet us afterward for lunch. When she turned the corner and saw her parents, siblings, nephew, grandma, best friends, and Gabe’s family all there, her smile said it all. Grace called the proposal and the weekend “perfect.” Now, we can’t wait to celebrate with all of you — and begin this next chapter as husband and wife. We’re most excited to keep building a life together.
