Zenkar and Grace both attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Freshman year, we both lived on the third floor of Sullivan Residence Hall in the Lakeshore dorms. Although Grace later moved to the second floor, she had already formed connections with her friends on the third floor--and that included Zenkar. As our freshman year continued on, the two of us became closer (especially when our whole dorm was locked inside during a polar vortex!), and we would even text each other, "Goodnight, love you!" before going to sleep. We didn't officially start dating until the fall of sophomore year. Grace and Zenkar, along with Zenkar's roommates, were getting together for a big Wisconsin football game at Zenkar's apartment. Wisconsin was playing the University of Michigan, and Zenkar's new apartment was steps away from Camp Randall, the football stadium. We all wanted front row seats! At that time, we got to talking about how we felt about each other, and how the friendship we held so dearly had the potential to become much more. We decided to give it a shot, and the rest is history! And yes, Wisconsin did win the football game:) It has been over six years since that momentous football weekend. After dating throughout college--and COVID--Grace and Zenkar did the long distance thing, flying to see each other in Chicago or Michigan for graduate school, and Salt Lake City for work. We have taken road trips to San Francisco, Yosemite, Arkansas, South Carolina, and of course back to Madison for a few football games! We have tried countless restaurants, enjoyed some incredible food, and had so many adventures along the way. And now, finally, Grace and Zenkar are together in Milwaukee and ready to tie the knot! We are super excited to celebrate with you all!
